Maybe …. You’re wondering if I’m trustworthy. You’re wondering if I will get it. You’re wondering if you will be safe with me. You’re wondering if I can help you. You’re wondering if I will hurt you too. You’re wondering if I just do this for money. You’re wondering if I will actually be able to see you, the real you (shattered pieces included). You’re wondering if I will be a waste of your time and energy. You’re worried that therapy may actually work this time. You’re worried that it won’t. You’re worried that it’s going to hurt. You’re worried about what else you might remember. You’re wondering if I’m really safe. You’re wondering if I will make you remember things that you don’t want to know. You’re wondering how I know this “stuff.”
Maybe you saw some posts that I have made on Social Media. Maybe you were referred to me by a trauma based website. Maybe someone said that I helped them. Maybe a doctor or therapist recommended me. Or maybe you just stumbled across me because that’s how life tends to work.
Whatever the reason, I want you to know that I am glad that you stopped by. That whether you contact me or not, it’s okay. And if you’re just not ready yet, that’s okay too. I’ll still be here. I want you to know that you are not alone in this. Even though it may feel that way. Most people don’t understand how isolating trauma can be. Most people certainly don’t understand its significance and life altering impact.
And this is to say, if you want to work on your trauma then…I am fairly certain that I can help. I want you to know that it can get better. I see it. Everyday. There is so much hope. And whenever you are ready to make the leap, do some hard work, and feel better.. let me know.
